Severe Weather at the Capital Region

I tried to show someone Hadley Mountain, but was interupted by sudden claps of thunder all around. Concerned about the possibility of a derecho, we go out there. I saw the storm clouds engulf Hadley and the surrounding mountains. I'm sure the steward on Hadley got a front roll seat of what was happening. In Corinth I finally regained cell phone service and saw what was going on. It was a line of storms bearing down on the Capital Region that looked possibly tornadic to me. I was unaware of a tornado touch down in Amsterdam. I told the driver we need to turn south immediatley to intercept the storm. There were active emergency vehicles in the town of Wilton. We picked up the northway in Saratoga. The lighting was blasting all around. Later I saw bolts of ligthing coming out of the anvil head of the storm and streaking through roll clouds. It was very impressive lightning. I told the driver to keep pushing south, but it was futile. Traffic slowed to 30 miles an hour and sometimes to a stand still. Strong gusts were creating dangerous conditons. I had to mute most of the video, because I was arguing with the driver on what to do next. I wanted off of 87 incase traffic stops due to damage blocking the road. We got off at Clifton Park. The power was out and there was evidence of wind damage. People were trying to figure out intersections without traffic lights. On our way back we encountered many instances of street flooding. I have been observing and chasing storms for 22 years and have yet to see a tornado. Yet it seems everyone in the valley has. It's frustrating.
