Trick or Treat

Trick or Treating at the Herkimer Home

The Friends of Herkimer Home State Historic Site held its first annual Halloween Boo Bash on Sunday, Oct. 23rd. Over 200 attend this event which had several activities for children and adults to do. There were crafts, games, a scavenger hunt and yummy refreshments. Volunteers, dressed in costume, told ghost stories in the Historic House, guided the visitors through the cemetery to look for clues for the scavenger hunt, and helped the children pin the leg on the skeleton. Refreshment included: spider cookies, wormy dirty crispy treats, ant hill cookies, spooky brownies, hot and cold cider and much more.
This event is going to be added to all the other events that the Friends do at the Historic Site through-out the spring and summer.
The Friends of Herkimer Home would also like to thank all the local businesses and private individuals for their generous donations which helped this event to be a Howling success: Big M, Kathy's Hair Design, Sheila's Hair Salon, Subway, Valley Home Furnishings, Little Falls Communitty Co-Op, White Rose Bakery, Carney's Corner, Linda Vincent and Jeannette Cretser.
