Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, we went on a search for Bald Eagles to add to our Great Backyard Bird Count list. We have heard of reports of two bald eagles fishing near the dam at Hinckley and decided to check it out for ourselves. Eagles typically feed early morning and early evening (no lunch I guess!!) so we ventired out around 3pm. We spotted this bald eagle swooping down to a tree at the water's edge near the Hinckley dam at 4:06pm. What a beautiful majestic bird. He tolerated us parking the car about 50 feet from him to capture some photos.
