Clinton Bantams Win Martin Luther King Tournament

The Clinton Bantam House team won the Martin Luther King Tournament in Auburn on Monday January 21st, by defeating, Bethleham 1 - 0 on Saturday morning and Auburn 7 - 3 that afternoon. On Sunday they tied Monroe County 3 - 3. This allowed Clinton to make the Champinonship game on Monday against Bethleham. In a nail biting game, which tied with under three minutes in the third period, Clinton ended up winning in overtime by 3 - 2.
In game one Ben Getman scored the only goal, unassisted. Goalie Cory Harris had sixteen saves. In game two Getman scored two unassisted goals. Steve Higgins and Seth Adams had one goal each, while Seve Kowalski had a hat trick. Getman had three assists while Higgins and Robert Hardy had one each. Goalie Justin Ceely had nineteen saves. In game three Getman again scored one goal, unassisted. Goals were also scored by Kowalski assisted by Dexter Kodat, and by Boe Heintz unassisted. Ceely had eighteen saves. In the Championship game Heintz scored, assisted by Higgins, and Higgins scored assisted by Getman. Higgins scored the game winning goal unassisted with a minute, thirteen seconds left in overtime. Also participating were defensemen Scott Johnson and Joey Macri, and offensive players John Evans, Mike Reece and Michael Taft. Congrats to the team and Head Coach Tim Reece, and Assistant Coaches John Adams and Shane Carter.
