Please read Rebecca's story http://www.alfordplace.com/teamrebecca/ In short, she had her first surgery in 1974 @ age 6. Basically to let her live a little longer. In 1994, after 20 yrs of research they had developed a procedure that could fix her.
2 morals to this story....1) THANK GOD there was research and research money to save her (in 1994 she had been told she had less than 10 yrs to live. i.e she would never see 36yrs old) 2) How amazing is an experimental procedure was able to last 20yrs until technology could catch up to HER!
Becky's heart had to wait 20 yrs....it is Team Rebecca's goal to make sure SOMEONE ELSE DOESN'T HAVE TO WAIT 20 YEARS!
