Well here is something that you do not see everyday, every year or from what I have heard once in a lifetime. While my son Drew and I were traveling to the Salmon Hatchery in Altmar New York. We were traveling on Happy Valley Road in Verona, near Churchville and we saw in the distance what seemed to be a huge flock of seagulls. We decided to get a closer look. As we got closer we noticed that there were thousands of them, they were pure white with black tips on thier wings and when we rolled down the windows the sound was amazing. They were Snow Geese, not common to this area but pass through while migrating north to thier nesting grounds. My son and I sat there for 45 minutes watching as more and more came in and land.. While we were sitting there another gentlemen drove up, rolled down his window to talk to us about the amazing sight . I did not get his name but he explained how lucky we were to see this He was an avid goose hunter of more then 20 years and he had never seen such a sight. We took many pictures and it will be something we will always remember.
