I just had the opportunity to take my son Tom to California with me to visit my niece and her family. My son and I also explored the coast of California together. A family relative is the Director of the Mammals at a Six Flags that has quite an array of fish life. As you can see we had a behind the scenes once in a lifetime experience by having a private meeting with the dolphins. A funny thing happened. One of the family members dropped her cell phone in the water and a dolphin dove for the phone at the bottom of the dolphin pool. The dolphin retrieved the cell phone and opened its mouth to hand the phone over to the person that lost it. The phone was unharmed except that it was waterlogged. What made this trip so special is that as my son is getting older and will be graduating college in a few years it probably will be one of the last mom and son vacations only that we will take. It is a lasting memory--playing with the dolphins, driving a brand new mustang convertible down the pacific coast highway, horseback riding on the beach in Monterey, and hanging out in hippietown-Berkeley, California..
