The Eagle Bay Fire Department was joined by Inlet and Old Forge on Thursday evening May 1, 2008 to battle a fire on Eagle Point. The camp was fully involved when firefighters got there and ended up being a total loss. However, they did save the garage and a neighboring camp that is very close by. The fire spread rapidly and was so intense that the smoke plume rose several hundred feet before drifting and could bee seen for miles. An investigation into the cause of the blaze began this morning, 5/2/08. www.AdirondackCitizen.com
