The red bird is either a male house finch or a male purple finch, depending on the amount of red on the bird. If just the head and part of the chest is red it is a male house finch. If the entire bird is red it is a purple finch.

Your lovely yellow bird is a Golden Fintch. They are a dusky grey until mating time in spring.
