A fire doubles in size every minute. It only takes five or six minutes to fully involve a house. It's a good thing no lives were lost. I'm sure they did everything possible to save the house.

Lets not forget how long it was going before initial call and the weather conditions.

Sure they are heroes, no one said they weren't. But when it comes down to it, they needed more help early on and should have called for it. This house could have possibly been safed, but it burned to the ground. How sad.

I cant even believe people have a comment when these firefighters volunteer to go on these calls to fight fires and risk there own lives to help others. There are heros in my eyes. We are lucky to have them!

Considering the majority of the fire load was in the rear of the house, you can't see the other 50 firefighters that were there. Not to mention this was one of the first pictures taken. I dont know what happens in your district but glad Im not there

I was listening to this call on the scanner, and at first the dispatchers gave a incorrect location, as soon as deerfield got word that it was fully involved they called for help from maynard, stittville and schyler, so help was called......

When will our local departements swallow their pride and call for more help durning the afternoon hours? Here is yet another example of a family losing thier home because we try to take on tasks much bigger than we can handle! Sorry to the family.
