Following the shootings of last week, residents of the area are shaken and reaching out to one another, as is typical in this close knit community. There will be an Interfaith Prayer Service of Healing and Remembrance on Monday, March 18th beginning at 7:00 pm, at St Augustine's Church in Ilion. Fr John Bassett, rector of the church located at 78 Second Street will host the event that welcomes all people. Bassett says, “When you have a toothache, you go to the dentist. When your heart is breaking you seek God, and the easiest place is at church.” The service is designed to offer hope, comfort, consolation, and an opportunity for healing to all who attend. Candles will be given out as people enter the service as a sign of hope.
