Cheetah meets the Rams

CHEETAH MEETS THE RAMS: On the first day of school, LaChase De Cheetah greeted kids (the Rams) and parents at Sarah J. Rawson Elementary School in Hartford.

“Cheetahs usually eat Rams, but this cheetah won’t eat us”, Principal Gerald Martin advised the curious students and teachers. It was the first day of school at Sarah J. Rawson Elementary School, in Hartford, and the CHEETAH™ (Connect to Higher Education Electronic Tools, Application and Help) company’s mascot, LaChase, was a special guest. The students of Rawson School are dubbed the “Rams”. LaChase’ visit is a direct alignment of the company’s mission to educate, entertain and inspire students to become CHEETAH CUBS (Children Understanding the Benefits of School).
CHEETAH™ and Genesis College Is A Must Foundation partnered with The Black Star Project, the National Parent Teachers Association, the City of Hartford Family Resource Center, and others, to organize a state-wide Fathers Bring Your Children To School initiative. Fathers or father figures are urged to publicly show their support by taking the children in their lives to the first day of school or the National Fathers Bring Your Children to School Day on Tuesday, September 10, 2013.
“We need our men 2 B Positively There®”, Jackee Bryant, Founder of Genesis declared. Research shows that children whose fathers take an active role in their educational lives do better in school (earn better grades, score higher on tests, enjoy school more, and are more likely to graduate from high school and attend college).
Both organizations have now partnered with Rawson and this “is a perfect synergy”, says the PTO President, Maxien Robinson. The group has planned an array of fun and educational activities for the students including a CHEETAH Book Challenge© and a reading and writing club. Under the guidance of CHEETAH’s Founder, Dr. P. Trowers-Lawrence, who is a mother, lawyer, self-published author, songwriter, and manufacturer, children will work through the stages from concept to printed books featuring His-Story© and Her-Story©.
Fathers and fathers figures are urged to accompany students to an evening of entertainment and refreshments, on September 10, 2013, National Fathers Bring Your Children to School Day, at 6 p.m., at Rawson’s cafeteria. According to Jackie Bethea, School and Family Support Provider, “We want all children to be accompanied by a trusted father-figure, whether it is a father, brother, uncle or neighbor.”
“Given that it truly takes a village to raise a child, I appreciate Principal Martin’s openness, overall professionalism and willingness to engage the community,” says Lawrence. “I can’t wait
