New Hartford Girls Tennis Team "Make a Racket" for Breast Cancer Awareness

Make a Racket!

The 6th annual "Make a Racket" Tennis Match for Breast Cancer Awareness took place today at New Hartford High School. Coach, Melissa Curtis, started the match 6 years ago to honor her mother, a survivor of breast cancer and it grew as a father of a team member and multiple teachers in the district as well as family friends had been diagnosed. This year's event was played with the Camden girls tennis team. Pink tennis balls flew over the nets as the girls rallied for more than just a win on the court, but a bigger one off the court. A raffle and fundraised was kicked off that will continue the rest of the month and all proceeds stay local at the Faxton-St. Luke's Breast Care Center.
