this IS a New York City owner disgracing what this facility was founded for.. they have taken away everything that the Van Allens have accomplished over their dedicated years... Is the city of Little Falls with their brand new MAYOR proud of this?

If you think the outside looks bad, take a tour of the facility! I was there to visit, and not a drop of soap to wash your hands in any bathroom, even the residents! Someone needs to step in and do something, as its is critical for the residents.

Yes the garbage is nasty. but do not lie anonymous. I wash my hands a 100 times a day and there is always soap. The residents get showers and are provided with soap. Submit only the true facts.

Well I can vouge for anonymous. In fact it was just 4 weeks ago. We were all told "NO SOAP, but its been ordered", and the reason being- the owner isnt paying any of his suppliers. Whats next? Residents supplies? Thats happening already!

I surely hope that the NYSDOH is reading this blog. Every resident in this facility was once someones baby,son,daughter,mother,father etc.Just imagine if it were yours? Wouldn't you want better for them than this? Families get involved ask questions!

In reguard's to the Sstate being notified? It does no good because the Sstate announce's when they will be arriving, so by that time everything gets cleaned up, and swept away.

As an employee at Van Allen, The garbage is only a very small part of what goes on there. Resident abuse and withholding IMPORTANT information is also a VERY big and dangerous problem. Just ask the admin. Creedon she knows what im talking about.

I too work at VANH and this blog has gotten way out of hand. VANH is not a bad place to work. We have been thru a lot in the past 3 yrs. but we are not without soap, we do not abuse our patients. Try to find a better place to work!!

If you work in a nursing home you would know that the State does not announce when they will be visiting. They stop at the front office as they come in the building to say they are there.

Well first of all, the STATE does announce an approximate time frame. Thus the reason Van Allen Nursing home knows the STATE will be there this coming week. They dont give exact times, or dates just an approximate. Amazingly the garbage is cleaned up

as far as where else can you work.....ANYWHERE! Not only is the nursing home poorly run, but its very underhanded. Why were ALL employees pay cut recently? FRAUD! Why was the employee insurance, that we paid for weekly, cancelled? Not once but TWICE!

Its about staffing 1 LPN and 2 Aides on a 40 bed Psych/Rehab unit. Its about improvising the standards of care and neglecting residents of needed medical supplies. For example, substituting garbage bags and tape for colostomy bags! Its a DISGRACE!

Creedon is doing the best job that she can. Her hands are tied by the owners. They arent allowing her to do her job efficiently! As Far as coming to a compromise, EVERY employee attempted to with the owners at an informal meeting a few months ago .

Staff has been trying, and the owners just turn a deaf ear. If it weren't for the kind hearted, compassionate staff the nursing home would sink. Staff continue to be neglected financially, despite the OWNERS receiving a GRANT to increase wages.

I work there. A few months ago I witnessed a LPN tie a resident to a chair with 2 gait belts, and laughed when the man tried to stand and couldn't. It was reported to Creedon & Talerico. It was seen by PT,CNAs,RN. That nurse is still working.

Weekends-no laundry people =no supplies for staff! No housekeepers after 2:30 p.m., therefore the place is filthy. Signing for paychecks and having to wait for them is ridiculous. Try speaking to Maher... he won't look you in the eye.

When the Van Allens owned that place, it was properly staffed and properly run. Things were done the RIGHT way, not the CROOKED way. Staff were treated with respect, and felt appreciated. What has this Maher character done for HIS staff? NOTHING!

Maher does not run nursing. That is done by RNs LPNs and CNAs. They don’t do it right it results in deficiencies. Making sure the job is well done is getting staff how can do the job properly and take pride in doing it.Get the real facts.

The State came, checked the problem and left. Yes there were many problems from Oct. 2007, but read the public report. It was mostly lack of paper work problems. Every nursing home has staffing and worker problems.

The turn over of aides from place to place is part of the reason for the problems. An aide doesn't do the job right so they get fired and then move on to the next facility to do it again. Very few aides truley love the work and show it.

Why is the recorded message on the phone not right? Voice mail for people that don't work there anymore are on the line. Time to change it!

This used to be a nice place to work but not anymore. The Jews have made the job harder for everybody and unbearable! Nobody enjoys going to work! Nice place!

The insurance sucks! Blood work- annual deductible- $500! Ridiculous! When VanAllens owned it there was no annual deductible!

The $ went to the consultants and state fines. If you were doing your jobs instead of complaining about having to move your buts and calling in all the time maybe some of it would have ended up in your pockets But loosers will always be loosers.
