The Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. But without the dedication and sacrifice of soldiers during the Revolutionary War, it would only be a piece of paper containing ideas.
In 1777, Fort Stanwix and Oriskany played a part in Liberty's baptism by fire.
Today, the men and women of our armed forces continue the legacy of dedication and sacrifice to preserve, protect and defend the freedoms we all too often take for granted.
We delight in seeing today's "rockets red glare" from our lawn chairs and blankets. Do we delight in why we can?
