The Friends of the Arc Foundation held its 17th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, July 21 at Valley View Golf Course in Utica, NY. Co-chairs of the event were Darlene Mahady and Bob Curri. Golfers enjoyed lunch, 18 holes of golf (best ball format), door prizes, a steak dinner and beautiful weather.
Corporate Cup winners are Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield team: Diane Hobaica, Alan Cafruney, Bill Virkler, Jr. and Mari Assid; Men’s 1st place: Regional Cancer Center: Men’s 2nd place: Badger Construction and Men’s 3rd place: Paradigm Consulting. Mixed 1st place: Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield; Mixed 2nd place: FM Resources. Women’s 1st place: Dr. and Mrs. James Putnam; Women’s 2nd place: NBT Bank and Strategic Financial Services. Men’s longest drive: Steve Nacewicz; Women’s longest drive: Karen Ryan. Men’s closet to the pin: Dick Crane – 4’ 1”; Women’s closest to the pin: Judy Sweet - 5’2’’. Team skins were won by Badger Construction.

Raffle winners were Marcia Alcuri, winner of a Chanatry’s $500 gift certificate, Chris Harjung, winner of a $250 gift certificate to Joe Tahan’s Furniture and Deb Barrett, winner of the $100 Symeon’s gift certificate. Winner of a Ping driver was John Jadhon.
Proceeds from this year’s tournament benefit The Arc’s Charles B. Wolkon Memorial Day Camp for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
