My name is Nick German and I have been playing piano since age five. I graduated from New Hartford High School in 2011. During my sr year in high school I auditioned for music schools around the north east. I was fortunate to be accepted into the #1 rated music school in our country- the Eastman School of Music. I couldn't have done it without my family, friends, and the community! This coming fall, I will be starting my senior year at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester studying Music Education and piano. I have been very blessed to be able to study music at Eastman despite the financial struggles of my family and me. We have a family of four boys, three of us being in college, and all work very hard to attend college. We are all very involved in the community here. My three brothers are the athletes and I'm the musician! I have been teaching piano since I was in 9th grade in order to help my parents pay for piano lessons. At Eastman I have two on-campus jobs as a Residential Advisor and as a Student Worker and Ambassador in the Eastman Admissions Office. For the past two summers, I worked at school as a Summer Residential Advisor. This coming fall, I will be student teaching and preparing for my graduate school auditions in piano. In addition to my tuition, I am responsible for teaching certification fees, vehicle fees, and graduate audition fees. I love my school very much and it is like a home to me! However, the constant financial struggles I am facing make it difficult to thrive musically and emotionally. I recently created a GoFundMe account to try and help raise some money for support. My family and I have gone through a lot of financial struggles throughout my life, but God always seems to have a plan! It would be wonderful if you could share my story to our community to help support me so I can continue to my musical journey at Eastman!! The community here has always been supportive and I am so happy to be a part of it. I would love to share with you more of my situation and story! I will attach my link below for you all to look at. I am hoping to reach out to the community and can't think if a better way than WKTV! Thank you!
