Many times during the night I've been awakened by the sound of a fire whistle followed by sirens, I usually turn over and fall back to sleep. The other night, when the fire on Acme Rd. in Frankfort occurred, I was awakened by the sounds of many different fire whistles. It was somewhere around 2-2:30am I believe. Hearing the first one wasn't too bad, but as the next town was called in, and the next...I was a little frightened, for two reasons...number one, because I knew that this was no false alarm, and number two, because it brought back the memory of my mobile home fire. Around 5 or so, I decided to take a drive and see exactly where this fire had happened. Once there, I simply could not believe that there was so little left to this two-family home. My mobile home had not burned that badly, and we had had an explosion. I've never seen a house fire burn right to the ground like that. It deeply saddens me that both family's have nothing left at all, except for their lives, for that I'm truly thankful. I took these pictures, just to show anyone that had not seen any pictures just exactly how bad these families were affected. My apologies if the pictures are blurry...I was still trembling at the time that I took them. My thoughts and prayers go out to both families.
