The Sodexo Food Service division at Mohawk Valley Community College was recently awarded the Corporate Regional Business Award by the New York State Rehabilitation Association (NYSRA).
Joanne Donaruma, Director of Employment Services for The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter, nominated Sodexo Food Service for the award. Sodexo has provided employment opportunities for people with varying disabilities, offering an enjoyable work experience and a safe environment.
Ms. Donaruma was at this month’s Board of Trustees meeting to present the award to the Sodexo Managing staff. Each year, NYSRA recognizes businesses who are “employment partners” with agencies in providing employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
“Sodexo had demonstrated a working relationship with The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter, and it is a company that has hiring and retention practices reflecting professional growth for all employees of differing abilities. NYSRA is pleased to recognize this business and support its continued commitment to employment opportunities for all New Yorkers,” according to a NYSRA statement.
