WKTV on Smith Hill Road

WKTV Memories

I started working at WKTV in 1980, my first job after college. I found an interesting job that constantly changed and a "family" of co-workers that always made me feel at home. I even found my husband, Tom here and watched my family grow up on some of the Christmas cards you;ll see in our Anniversary section.

Before I started working here, I was aware of how important WKTV was to Central New York. I grew up watching the Bozo Show and Romper Room reruns. I sang on the Christmas Choirs Show with the St. Francis deSales Glee Club in high school. My family watched WKTV News every night at 6 and 11 for the latest news about Utica.

So I have so many memories of this station. WKTV has started this YouNewsTV section for you to share your WKTV memories. Post your pictures and videos of WKTV here. Whether you are a former or present employee, or an involved viewer, we want to see your memories.

I grew up on Smith Hill with the TV station as my neighbor. It was a great place with Jerry Fiore, Lyle Bosely and Ed Whittacker. Congratulations on reaching this milestone
