The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter NYSARC is pleased to announce the completion of its 1,000 foot Wellness Trail at the Charles B. Wolkon Day Camp in Frankfort, New York. The trail is equipped with various exercise stations for both children and adults.
The Wellness Trail was constructed by the Environmental Conservation students from Oneida County BOCES. Keith Joslin, instructor, led 50 juniors and seniors from throughout Oneida County in completion of the trail.
The partnership between Oneida County BOCES and The Arc has proven to be beneficial to both parties. The students who participated in the Wellness project have gained experience in reading blueprints, marking trails, hands-on training with power tools and heavy equipment and tramping stone. The Arc’s individuals will enjoy handicap accessible mobility throughout the camp and the excitement of outdoor exercise.
At the completion of the Wellness Trail in November, The Arc presented the students and faculty at Oneida County BOCES with Certificates of Appreciation and a pizza party honoring their accomplishments.
The Arc staff and campers are very grateful for the hard work and dedication Keith Joslin and his students put forth for people with developmental disabilities in our community.
