Mrs. Leonard's 5th grade class from Clinton School came to visit LutheranCare Ministries on Thursday, Dec. 18th. The residents and children sang Christmas Carols together, and made holiday crafts with the help of the Therapeutic Recreation (TR) department, and also shared holiday stories with each other. One lucky resident, Dorothy Knewasser recognized her grandaughter Kaitlyn Carr immediately as she came in and was very happy to visit and make Santas with her, while each of the other children sat at tables mingling with over 20 residents.
Later that day, the school's Art Club and Choir came and painted fabulous holiday scenes and caroled through the halls much to residents' and staffs' delight!
Clinton School's 5th grade classes have been visiting monthly since October participating in various intergenerational programs themed around the holidays, and plan with TR to continue the programs through the remainder of the school year with their students!
