Syracuse/Hancock Airport was full of hopeful travelers on Monday, including homesick military personnel and college students . But despite the airport's best efforts, many flights were delayed or cancelled. When Cold Brook resident Emilie Huxley's flight to visit her brothers in CA was cancelled for the 2nd time in as many days, she left the airport hearing college students discussing catching the only flight into JFK and planning to sleep there overnight in hopes of being able to fly home the next morning. By the end of the day, some travelers' hopes were fulfilled, but many had to be postponed for this holiday season.
