At about 2:45 on December 31, a Centro bus and a pickup truck collided at the corner of James and Mohawk Streets in Utica.
The bus sheared off a telephone pole and came to rest near the sidewalk. It appeared that it had also collided with a fire hydrant. The traffic light at the intersection was left hanging about 3 feet off the ground.
One bus passenger was assisted by the Utica Fire Department. It did not appear that anyone else was injured in the accident.
