They not only dealt with the fire, but also with getting water, and slippery roads. Water was brought in by many tankers from miles away. Roads became slippery. A plow stood by. A canoe was used to get a heavy pump to a nearby river. A hole was chopped into the river for more water. Obviously a tough day for many.
