Shayna Fick is one of 9 finalists in the Drug Quiz Show T-Shirt Contest. Her friends, Jasmine Diamond, Kaitlyn Hillage, and Jessica Barnard look on as Shayna displays her work.
During the month of February, 60 middle school students entered the Rite Aid Drug Quiz Show T-shirt Logo Contest and displayed their entries in the hall of the middle school. Fifteen of these entries were recognized for outstanding effort, and each student was awarded a tobacco free t-shirt from the OCM BOCES Tobacco Free Schools Initiative. All of the entries were forwarded to the NY State Drug Quiz Office and then judged again by a panel of teen leaders. Shayna Fick, a new 6th grade student in our CCS family, captured the judges’ attention with her anti-drug message: an illustration of a globe supported by a hand. Her slogan read, You’ve got the whole world in your hand, don’t stop it to do drugs. Her logo will be one of nine considered for this year’s official drug quiz t-shirt. The Drug Quiz Corporation mailed Shayna two gift certificates totaling $30 for being one of the top finalists in the state. Later this month, the Drug Quiz Corporation will identify the winner.
Studnets winning t-shirts were: Zach Reed, Taylor Reese, Lucas Hameline, Olivia Evans, Shayna Fick, Emily Dougherty, Jasmine Diamond, Mary Warfel, William Jarrett, Addie Zoller, Ben Elgren, Haley Allen, R.J.Seidsma, Caroline Smiegal, and Garrett Brombacher.
