The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter NYSARC provides advocacy and services to people with developmental disabilities. Some of our services include Community and Family Services, Children’s Services, Day Services, Employment Services, Residential Services, Service Coordination, Clinical Services, Vocational Services, and Recreational Services.
In the past few months, The Arc and other organizations like ours, have been advocating for the reinstatement of certain benefits lost to us due to the sinking economy. We have traveled to Albany in hopes of being heard by our legislation to have items such as the trend for OMRDD (Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities) direct care professionals restored. We would also like the government to continue to provide the resources for residential development to continue to house the developmentally disabled children of families in need. Your membership helps to strengthen our voice statewide with lawmakers and legislative officials.
Your membership also contributes to helping The Arc meet the growing needs expressed by our families. The Arc offers support, networking, educational and volunteer opportunities for families and professionals. Members receive the Agency’s quarterly newsletter News & Views, an Annual Report, information updates and membership in NYSARC, Inc. and The Arc of the US.
