We are not sure if the animal is dead or alive because we did not want to get too close. We were on the phone for over 3 hours trying to call someone to come to take a look. We called the 911 center, Herkimer County Public Health, The DEC, local animal control, Local Village Official, Assemblymen Marc Butler's office, and the Nusiance Rehabilitators. The Village Official, Marc Butler's office, and the local animal officer were of help, however those that needed to respond and take charge still have not. Apparently a child or family pet needs to get bitten before anyone will take action. We addressed this as an urgent matter and yet no one seems to care, Herkimer County told us to pick it up with a shovel and bury it. What exactly needs to happen here?
