Wayne Brown, Service Coordinator at The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter NYSARC, has been named the North Region’s Employee-of-the-Second-Quarter.
Mr. Brown’s supervisor, Mary Ingersoll, states that “Wayne regularly gives of himself beyond regular work hours to give the individuals we serve the special attention that is often lacking in their lives. He builds relationships and is the primary support for many who have little or no family contact. Wayne is sensitive to their needs and has made a tremendous difference in their lives.” Ms. Ingersoll goes on to say that “Wayne is much appreciated and well respected by members of the Service Coordination Team for his knowledge in many areas and for his positive attitude and willingness to serve. He repeatedly contributes more than is expected and takes delight in making someone else’s day a little easier.”
Mr. Brown has been employed at The Arc since 2001. He and his wife Melanie reside in Constableville, NY.
Oneida County -
Michelle Kitchen, Service Coordinator at The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter NYSARC, has been named Employee-of-the-Second-Quarter for The Arc’s South Region. Service Coordination Division Head, Renée Rich, says that “Michelle is a self-motivated, energetic, extremely reliable and flexible employee. She has an uncanny ability to find that rainbow we all seek and the ability to tune in to the feelings and needs of individuals, family members and members of her team.” According to Colleen Bottini and Karen Shanley, supervisors who nominated Ms. Kitchen, “Michelle builds strong relationships with individuals and their families. She advocates for them and, in some cases, is the sole support for individuals who have little or no family contact. Michelle extremely committed and dedicated to the individuals she serves and fulfills The Arc’s mission by making it possible for them to live as independently as possible. She has made an amazing impact on their lives.” Ms. Kitchen, who also serves in the Residential and Community & Family Services Divisions, has been employed in Service Coordination with The Arc since 2001. She is a resident of Clark Mills, NY.
