The local American roots band SLUG opened up Fireworks over Utica on Saturday to an enthusiastic crowd. Their set featured mostly original music but closed with a Bob Dylan tribute to recently deceased local music aficionado, Paul May. The event took place at Hanna park, an unusual use of an urban area for a wide range of bands embracing all styles of rock music. The event was headlined by rock legends Blue Oyster Cult followed by a fireworks display.
