A house fire in on Cedarbrook Drive in West Rome caught the attention of many at about 4:15 on Friday August 28. I was outside doing lawn work when I heard sirens and saw the black cloud of smoke billowing down the road. My in laws live over that way so I grabbed my bike and rode toward it. It was a home next door to my in laws.
The occupant was not home at the time but unfortunately she lost 2 cats, and the rest of the house was pretty much a total loss. Please show your support for the Rome woman who lost just about everything and commend the Rome Fire and Police departments who kept it from spreading to the neighboring homes.
