A former security guard at Grayslake North High School pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges he solicited lewd photographs from an underage student.
Christopher Bosak, 25, faces a mandatory prison sentence of four to 15 years if convicted of solicitation of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Mary Stanton said Bosak, of Salem, Wis., worked at the school for Per Mar Security Services. Police were called to the campus Nov. 6 when a compact disc containing lewd photographs of the girl was found on a computer in the school's computer lab.
Officers interviewed the girl and she said Bosak had told her he wanted pictures of her naked and she had sent him one.
Bosak told police he had been giving the girl a ride home from school and that she had sent him one lewd photograph of herself to his cell phone, Stanton said.
Police have seized Bosak's computer and are searching it for possible additional evidence, she said.
Bosak, who was fired shortly after his arrest, was also initially charged with impersonating a police officer, but Stanton said that charge has been dropped.
Associate Judge George Bridges agreed to lower Bosak's bond from $150,000 to $10,000, provided he lives at home with his mother and enters sex offender treatment.
Bridges also barred Bosak from contact with anyone under the age of 17 and from using the Internet while the case is pending against him.
He scheduled a trial of the case for Jan. 11 and ordered Bosak to appear in court Dec. 29.
