Heavy Snowfall Causes Accident

submitted by Don Marino

This car was westbound on Lowell Rd in Westmoreland, lost control, went sideways into tree striking on diver's side then careened into stone wall causing l/f tire to ride up the wall and rolling vehicle onto its side.

Driver was trapped in the vehicle and I had her open passenger window and lifted her from vehicle.

She had a bump and laceration to left eye but complained of no other injuries prior to ambulance removing her. Very fortunate considering the heavy impact on drivers side into the tree.

Investigated by Tpr. Kyle Yerman NYSP, Marcy

Westmoreland and Stanwix Fire dept responded

Glad she is ok but really, what caused this was not taking precautions in the bad weather, going too fast.

I was driving in the "whiteout" Thursday, around 5:30 pm on 365. You were lucky if you could see the hood of your vehicle. People were still passing each other. Not suprising, the same people ended up off the road a mile after I was passed. Duhh!
