Hello, my name is Roger me and my fiance have resided in Lake Placid for years. We love the area and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. However a common problem I along with many people I know face is the extremely poor living conditions many of the apartments in the area offer. Currently we live in a nice small one bedroom with everything included. However due to the negligence of our landlord we have no heat at are apartment. The winters here are cold and nobody should have to face an entire winter without heat but we are forced to everyday due to a lock box over are thermostat. It's not as if we simply haven't asked as we have resided in this apartment at Patrick Dellavalle's of Lake Placid since September but nothing we do gets a response from letters to phone calls. I think if some people such as are landlord simply had to walk in our shoes they would feel ashamed of the way they treat there tenants. It has recently been so cold when I get home me and my fiance have decided to withold are rent in hopes it will have some effect and hopefully get are heat turned on that we pay for every month as part of are rent. I hope someone reads this and hopefully if there in a situation like ours they wont feel alone any longer as I feel this is a problem many here in the Adirondacks face.

So sorry to hear about this. My son lived in that building in Lake Placid Patrick Dellavalle was the landlord then too, What a horrible man. The way he got heat was by wrapping the thermostat with an ice pack.There is more than 1 way to skin a cat!

We've vacationed in Lake Placid and it is beautiful, but very cold. I hope and pray that your landlord knows how to use a computer and reads this. He/she should be ashamed of themselves. That's disgusting. I'm sure they are warm. What is it set at?
