On Saturday February 20th, history was made at the state fair grounds, as the Syracuse Crunch hosted the Mirabito Outdoor Classic. In addition to being the first every outdoor hockey game in the American Hockey League, the 21,508 fans broke the AHL attendance record. Besides some minor Logistics issues the event was a great success, with past NHL stars, AHL Stars and the delivery of the pucks by a guy who jumped from a plane in 20 MPH gusts. The best part of the day was Syracuse Crunch 2-1 win over the Binghamton Senators.
