Arc Employee of the 2nd Quarter – Oneida County

Charlene Coughlin, Quality Manager in the Residential Department of The Arc, Oneida- Lewis Chapter, NYSARC has been named Employee-of-the-Second-Quarter of 2010 for Oneida County. Division Head, Mary Jane Tottey, says that “Charlene is a loyal member of the Arc team. To her co-workers, she is a cheerleader and coach, a captain and comrade, a catalyst and a cohort. While never seeking the limelight herself, she always acknowledges the efforts and participation of others.” Mrs. Coughlin was nominated by Residential Assistant Director, Jennifer Rabideau, and Deputy Director, Frank Centola: “Charlene defines the meaning of a true team player. She assumes many roles in the department, including oversight and monitoring of the Direct Support Professionals training. For the past two years, she also chaired The Arc Family Picnic committee, coordinating and executing the events with remarkable and highly successful results.” Mrs. Coughlin has been employed at The Arc for nearly four years. She resides in Frankfort, NY with her husband Jack and two children, Sarah and Brian.

Rebecca “Becky” Hosmer, Residence Manager at The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter, NYSARC has been named the North Region’s Employee-of-the-Second-Quarter for Lewis County. Residential Division Head, Mary Jane Tottey, says that “Direct Support Professionals are the backbone of the agency and Becky is exemplary. She defines the positive impact that DSPs can have on the quality of life of the individuals we serve.” Program Manager and Ms. Hosmer’s supervisor, Lynn Klein, says, “Becky has the calm, steady presence and attitude that make her a perfect fit for working with the individuals we serve. They come first with her. She is organized and highly competent and, with her remarkable sense of humor and common sense approach, is able to quickly resolve difficult issues and uplift spirits. Becky possesses qualities that allow her to deal very effectively with staff and with the individuals we serve.” Ms. Hosmer, who has been employed at The Arc for nearly three years, resides in Lowville, NY.

The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter, NYSARC is a non-profit human services agency which provides advocacy and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Oneida and Lewis counties.
