Reenactors from several states descended upon the village of Mohawk June 4,5, and 6th. They set up a camp, fought battles in the streets of Mohawk and on the Erie Canal. Hundreds of people came out to watch the battles and stroll through the encampment.
The Mohawk River Valley, was the primary defense point for the Continental Army against British and Indian forces aligned against them in the American Revolutionary War.
