In June, the Board of Trustees of the Slocum Dickson Foundation announced that they have awarded The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter’s Children’s Services division a $5,000 grant to help fund the Lending Library and Lecture Series.
The Arc’s Lending Library is located in the Therapy and Play Center on Genesee Street in Utica. The Library makes it possible for families and staff to increase their knowledge and awareness about the different types of intellectual and developmental disabilities facing children today.
The Lecture Series is offered monthly from September through May. Various local professionals come to The Arc’s training center to conduct two hour seminars about issues facing children and teens with disabilities. The Lecture Series is open to the public and the cost is: $10 for non-Arc members and $5 for members.
