Last summer a friend calls and asks if I'm missing any of my ferrets. "No, why?" This friend who lives across the busy main street and off on another street says, "I have a ferret on my back porch!" On that street, this friend is the ONLY family we even know on that street and this lil ferret finds her way to their back porch! It's middle of August, hot summer heat, stray dogs, cats and whatever else to dodge...avoiding cars and trying to stay alive. Renezmae was filthy, nothing but skin and bones, every rib could be felt. Broken canines, horrid teeth, and all of her claws curled under from being so long. As scared and trembling as she was, not once did she lash out and only looked at me as to say, "please help, I'm tired." Took her home, cleaned her up, syringe fed warm soup and supplements for weeks...within no time she rounded out nicely, but still timid. Toys, sadly she had no clue what to do with toys. Renezmae had to be "taught" to have fun and enjoy life as a ferret should. Soon, she found favorite comfy spots, was lapping up ferretone, eating on her own, and yes...has her favorite toys she comes running at the sound of! Ignorance or monstrous act to put her in the shape she was in, to be exposed to outdoor elements to fend for herself, and to land on the porch of only family on that street we know.... Renezmae was guided to the right house to get her here, to her loving forever home. Now, she fits in fine, pounces and plays as a ferret should, cuddles and gives kisses and shows no memories of the past life she was subjected to.
Renezmae Guided to her forever home
