Vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC, our oldest daughter hears "meow" over and over. Popping out from a dirt mound at entrance to condo, was this baby kitten! No siblings or mama to be seen or heard. At first she hissed in fear. We walk away a bit and she pops her head up, like "help but I don't know what I want!" We walk a few more steps and she limps down from her dirtmound and tries to follow. Then she allows handling. Within no time she is purring. Then the fussing, "I'm hungry!" starts and continues every 2 hours for days. Ears looked packed with chocolate cake from ear mites, fleas crawing, she's frail and is light as a feather. We clean her up, treat ears and fleas until we can get back home for vet care and just spoil and love her in meantime. Meekah is what her name came to be. The 9 hour trip home didn't bother her one bit. Meekah thrives for attention and affection and flies all over the place in her new home. Vet care was given and her leg will be fine. Vet guesstimated her at 8 wks. upon returning home. This making her only 6 wks when we found her. Two days after being found, her dirt mound was flattened by a huge piece of construction equiptment. Without question, she would have been burried or crushed without being heard had she not made herself heard to our oldest daughter! Meekah is rounding out nicely, playful, loveable, and loves being spoiled with toys and playtime!
