UTICA, N.Y. – Mohawk Valley Health System has all three booster brands available at its Burrstone House location in New Hartford.
Eligible residents looking for Moderna, Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson can schedule an appointment at the location to get a booster shot during the hours of operation, which are 7 a.m. to noon Monday through Saturday at 1710 Burrstone Road.
According to the state health department, it is recommended the following people get a booster:
- Those 18 and older who received the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine two or more months ago.
- Those 65 and older or residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster shot of the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their primary series (“mix and matching” is permitted.)
- People aged 50–64 years with underlying medical conditions should receive a booster shot of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their primary series.
People in the following categories may also be eligible:
- New Yorkers aged 18–49 years with underlying medical conditions may receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks.
- Those aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting may receive a booster shot of the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks.
