Neighbors report fire at home in West Utica

UTICA, N.Y. -- Utica firefighters made quick work of a fire in West Utica Wednesday night, getting it under control in about 20 minutes.

The fire started around 9 p.m. at a home on the corner of Mathews Avenue and Ann Street. Neighbors called 911 when they saw smoke coming from the house.

Fire officials say the flames were confined to the kitchen area, and no one was injured.

The cause is still under investigation.
