FRANKFORT, N.Y. – The New York State Trappers Association is holding its 83rd annual convention and sportsman show at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds through Saturday, Sept. 4.

"This is a great place to come and talk to people; there is every level of expert here there are a lot of demos here…where trappers like myself and other good trappers, whether they’re water trappers or coyote trappers, they do a demonstration for an hour and a bunch of huge information is given away for free to anybody who wants to sit there and attend and learn a lot from those guys,” said Mark Zagger, a vendor at the convention.

Rose Anna Moore from the History Channel survival series “Alone” will also have a booth set up on Friday, and will give a special presentation in the demo area about her experience on Grizzly Island.

An auction will also be held Friday night.
