The Pioneers made history to go along with local bragging rights as they held off the Continentals to improve to 9-0 this season.
This marks the best start in program history, topping the 8-0 start that UC had in the 1984-85 season.
Brigid Johndrow lead the scoring for the Pioneers with 13 pionts, while Petrina DeMarco had 12, and Sydney Przygoda had 11 plus 10 rebounds.
Maria Mercado Rengel topped Hamilton's scoring with 11 points, followed by Emma Sehring chipping in 10.
Hamilton drops to 6-4 with the loss.
SUNY Poly 73, Utica 58*
The Wildcats used a 10-0 run in the second half to pull away and never look back, topping the Pioneers for local bragging rights.
LJ Randle lead all scorers with 15 points in the game for SUNY Poly, while Alan Rodriguez contributed 14, Josh Gregory dropped 12, and Jesse O'Dell also put in 12 with 11 rebounds.
Three players, Darius Hopkins, Kobe Lufkin, and Thomas Morreale put in 13 points for the Pioneers in a balanced attack that wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.
SUNY Poly moves to 8-4 overall, while Utica enters Empire 8 play at 6-2.
