UTICA, N.Y. -- The Utica Zoo’s premiere Halloween and Harvest celebration wrapped up on Sunday.
Spooktacular drew huge crowds both on Saturday and Sunday with trick-or-treaters.
Many families came to the zoo to enjoy an early Halloween celebration before next weekend.
There were animals out on exhibit, food trucks, vendors and a new “Twisted Fairy Tail Trail”!
“This is just a really awesome event, I love doing it every year. You get to come in costume! I love to see all the kids in costume too. I work with kids here at the zoo. I am an educator so I get to see them, so it's fun for the kids that I teach to come in their costumes and just have a really awesome time. It's also especially because of COVID, I know there are still some worries about being inside. It's a really fun and really safe way to trick or treat, all of our stations are dispersed around the zoo. It's outside, it's a beautiful day so it really all works together this year” says the lead educator at the zoo Kathleen McGill.
The zoo had over 4,200 people attend their spooktacular event over the course of two days.
