State police find missing Unadilla man dead; suspect charged with murder

New York State Police have arrested a murder suspect following an investigation into the 2019 disappearance of Unadilla man.

Jesse Donlin, 44, was reported missing in September of 2019. After receiving multiple tips, the investigation led to the arrest of 36-year-old William D. Sabines Jr., of Chenango County.

Sabines was indicted by a grand jury on the following charges:

  • Second-degree murder
  • Concealment of a human corpse
  • Tampering with physical evidence 

Sabines is being held at the Chenango County jail on $250,000 cash bail or $500,000 bond.

It is not yet clear how Donlin died or where his body was found.

Multiple agencies assisted state police with this investigation, including the Chenango County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Forest Rangers and the Chenango County District Attorney’s Office.
