Mohawk Valley Health Systems and NEWSChannel 2 will join together again this year to raise money to ‘Stomp Out Cancer.’
The funds will support programs and services at the MVHS cancer center, which provides treatment to patients locally.
“We see about 1,500 patients each year. Actually this year, we're on pace to pass that. We treat about 40 different types of cancer here,” said John Forbes of the MVHS Foundation. “We're very fortunate to have state-of-the-art cancer treatment here so people don't have to leave town, they can come here for our cancer treatment, but we need to continue to support that so we can provide that care.”
The telethon lines will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, but donations can be made online at any time by clicking here.
Those who donate $100 or more will get a $10 gift certificate to Symeon’s Restaurant, and those who donate $200 or more will get another certificate to Utica Coffee Roasting Co.
