ILION, N.Y. - Over 100 people attended the "Senior Ball" at the Knights of Columbus in Ilion Thursday night.
It's an annual Christmas dinner that has been held for six years. Seniors from all around the area came to enjoy a meal created by Chef Michael Maiorano and entertaintment by "The Sounds of John Seymour."
The event was free and sponsored by the New Vision Pioneers, a network of employee and retirees of the telecom industry.
"I'll tell you, when we announced that we were having the senior ball, the phone was ringing off the hook, which is great," Don Peterson, the chairman for Christmas in Ilion, said. "It's super. You can never have enough good times to go around, it's great to be able to help them."
This is just one of the many traditions during Christmas in Ilion. The fun continues this weekend. Holiday Hoopla is set for this Saturday.
