UTICA, N.Y. -- The annual electronics recycling drop off took place on Saturday at the Oneida Herkimer Solid Waste Authority.
Hosted by Sen. Joseph Griffo, the e-waste event drew a massive crowd.
Old computers, tvs, phones and more were dropped off.
In addition to electronics, old prescription medication and documents were accepted to be shredded.
“We believe this is very good for the environment and a convenient way at one place to get everything done. I want to thank the Solid Waste Management Authority, as well as the Department of Environmental Conservation, Confidata, for all of them helping us to make this happen today”, said Griffo.
According to Griffo, they have had over 500,000 pounds of electronics recycled since they began the event.
