UTICA, N.Y. – Kossuth Fish Market has been a bustling business in Utica for the past 46 years -- but now, owner Vito Affatigato is looking to sell the market and retire.
Affatigato would like to sell to someone who would continue the legacy of the fish market, which he says has become a landmark in the community.
“So now I say ‘enough’ -- I want to enjoy life and the only way is to sell the business to somebody that would be serious about buying this business -- because this business…is a landmark,” he said.
Affatigato just recently turned 70 years old, and says it’s time to move on.
“If you had two or three more lives to live, maybe I would still hang in. But, no. So, it’s about time that I pull the plug,” he said.
However, Affatigato says he will stay open until he finds the right buyer.
Kossuth Fish Market is located at 300 Kossuth St.
